Best Junior Handler - Morvin MacDonald |
Junior Handling Critique: Judge Margaret White |
Class 1. 6-12 years
1ST. Morven MacDonald . I was very impressed from the start with this young handler and her beagle. Her calm and gentle manner added to a very balanced and controlled round. The table work was neat and the pattern work was executed with a nice rhythm and pace to it. She had a nice rapport with her dog but it could be improved even more by quietly talking to the dog especially when showing the teeth. A lovely round with no ballerina poses and a young handler who could do very well in the future. I hope she remembers to relax and smile a little more. Congratulations on being awarded Best Junior Handler Overall.

Class 2. 12-16 years
1ST. Shannon Goldberg. Started with confidence but the lead was held too short so the dog always looked tight and unbalanced. She needs to slow down and then dog and handler will be much more accurate on the turns and positions. The dog was stood too close to me to look at and not placed central to my feet. Watch the golden rule too as I need to see the dog at all times. How ever I loved your courage and spirit and the respectful way you listened to my suggestions after the competition. Thank you so much for your entry. I feel with more practise you could become a very elegant looking junior handler. |
