Judge's Critique
Thank you to exhibitors for such a lovely entry in terms of quality and numbers. All hounds placed were "fit for purpose". I was impressed with the line up of unbeaten dogs and bitches, full of quality and soundly constructed hounds.
One habit which appears to be creeping in possibly from America is over trimming of sterns. The standard requires a tail "well covered with hair, especially on the underside". Some had been so scissored that they resembled candles rather than proudly carried hound sterns. Thanks also to my to very efficient stewards.
