Judge's Critique​

​

Thank you to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge their open show. Unfortunately there was quite a few absentees. But after being away from exhibiting the breed for a while it was nice to access the dogs with a fresh eye. overall the quality was good and shoulders and fronts are improving, but still a few with steep shoulders.

Baby Puppy Dog

1) Davinebrae Dutchman. Tan and white, who has much to like already. he has a good amount of bone, balanced in his outline. square muzzle, nicely placed ears, good shoulder assemble.

2) Boskenna The Yellow Peril. tan and white who is older, not as compact in outline as winner, which could be down to age as we all know. moved ok when settled.

 

Minor Puppy Dog

1)Dughallmor Iceman. Tri 7 month male. overall shape was balanced, Lovely head and expression, dark eye. Enough chest with a straight front. shoulders a touch steep. Top line good. tail set high. enough angulation at the rear. moved well when settled. RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

2) Poppyville Forever Dancing To Sanbryvale's. Tan and white. Dark eye, nicely placed ears. clean neck leading into ok shoulders. top line was a little roachy on the stack. levelled out on the move. enough bone. high set tail carried well. moved ok.

Junior Dog - NO ENTRIES

 

Yearling Dog

1) Rhiconich Midas Touch JW. 14 month, tan and white. nice balance to this dog and had lovely round bone. pleasing head and expression. strong clean neck. a touch steep in shoulder. strong top line held throughout. Moderate in angulation. moved well.

 

Novice Dog - NO ENTRIES

 

Graduate Dog

1) Boskenna Prince Charming. Tri Male, nicely balanced in overall shape. dark eye, clean head and expression. neck of good length leading into nicely placed shoulders. good ribbing. well muscled all through. moved well.

Post Graduate Dog - 1 ABSENT

 

Limit Dog

1) Mackhovie Elladan, 2 year old tri male. clean head and expression with lovely dark eye. strong neck leading into nicely placed shoulders. straight front. good round bone and neat feet. good ribbing and strong loin. tail set good and carried well. moved parallel. RESERVE BEST DOG.

 

Open Dog

1) Clairdale Fusilier. 4 year old Tri Male. Lovely, compact and balanced in outline. nothing over done. Dark oval eye, ears well placed. clean expression. Firm, strong neck leading into clean shoulders. good amount of chest. lovely round bone. nice tight feet. strong top line held throughout. moderate rear angulation. stood parallel. Moved well. BEST DOG, BEST OPOSITE IN SHOW.

 

Veteran Dog - 2 ABSENT

 

Baby Puppy Bitch

1) Divinebrae Truth Or Dutch. very pretty feminine expression. balanced in outline for one so young. good round bone. when settled. moved well with enthusiasm. BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW

2) Beskenna's Royal Flush. going through the 'gangly' stage at the moment. but still much to like about this youngster. good round bone and tight feet. pretty head. clean neck. moved well when settled.

 

Minor Puppy Bitch

1) Davricard Astrid. 6 Month and screams quality. compact and balanced. beautiful head with clean expression. dark eyes, slight dome to skull. low set ears. clean neck, slightly arched leading into super shoulder placement. strong level top line, short loin. well bent stifle. short hocks, stood parallel. tail set high carried well. on the move she just flowed. such clean front action. and moved with purpose and drive in profile. one ill watch in the future. BEST BITCH, BEST IN SHOW, BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.

 

Puppy Bitch - 4 ABSENT

 

Junior Bitch 

1) Davricard Madonna, 12 month Tri. Another quality bitch. very balanced throughout. lovely head with slight dome to skull. nice strong neck leading into well laid shoulders. clean front and stood on good feet. nice ribbing and strong loin. well angulated throughout. tail carried well. moved with good reach and drive. RESERVE BEST BITCH, RESERVE BEST IN SHOW.

2) Molesend Kiwi, not as compact in outline as winner, but still many attributes to like. pretty head and expression. clean strong neck. nicely placed shoulders with clean straight front. good feet. level top line held throughout. moved well.

 

Yearling Bitch - 2nd JUNIOR

 

Novice Bitch - 4 ABSENT

 

Graduate Bitch

1) 2ND JUNIOR

2) Rhiconich Goldie Hawn, who was placed 3rd in junior. rangier in type. good head. a little steep in shoulders. top line level and held throughout. moved well. 

 

Post Graduate Bitch - 3 ABSENT

 

Limit Bitch

1) Bondlea Cherished, good overall balance in outline, stood on good bone and feet. clean head and expression. strong neck with slight arch. clean shoulders and strong top line. short loin. strong hind quarters which she used to her advantage on the move. 

2) Clairdale Galatea, another balanced female. dark eye and slight dome to skull. clean neck and nice shoulders. Good length of back. tail set high, carried well. would have preferred a little more bend to stifle. moved ok.

Open Bitch - 2 ABSENT

 

Veteran Bitch 

1) Bondlea Lucy JW, smart looking veteran who certainly didn't show her age. pretty head and expression, low set ears and dark eye. good bone and feet. top line held throughout. moved merely around the ring. BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
